When you learn about the special money powers that many major governments across the world are using every day, you then must ask: why aren’t we using them with greater intention and focus?

We must act with courage, to overturn decades of entrenched thinking about how to organise our economies, run businesses and solve problems together.
Professor Mariana Mazzucato and others have outlined the merit of earlier governing approaches. For example identifying “mission-based” priorities - like the US Government did to go to the moon in 1960s - and using government efforts and funding to “crowd-in investment” from the private sector towards missions that are critical to society.
Climate action is one such mission.
We won’t achieve change without courage. We must take on decades of entrenched thinking. But armed with sufficient spirit and knowledge, we can choose to reorganise around highly effective approaches that have worked before.
With four years left to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees celsius, this change couldn't be more urgent. Learn! Share! Educate! Organise! Demand Change! Run for office!
We must be the people we are waiting for. We must be the change we want to see.
